"THE STAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER…

An avid gamer, Jamie Marten loves to escape into online adventure. But when she falls through an antique mirror into a lavish bedchamber—200 years in the past!—she realizes she may have escaped a little too far.

Micah Axelby, Earl of Dunnington, has just kicked one mistress out of his bed, and isn't looking to fill it with another—least of all this sassy, nearly naked girl who claims to be from the future. Yet something about her is undeniably enticing…

Jamie and Micah are worlds apart. He’s a peer of the realm. She can barely make rent. She’s wi-fi. He’s horse-drawn. But soon the pair will do anything to avoid a Game Over."  ~ From Goodreads

The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl is a light spirited romance with lots of giggles, faux pas of societal nature and story of love that surpasses the London ton's norms and 200 years and whole lot of clothing differences. Gina Lamm writes both funny and heartwarming, it's no chore to read The Geek Girl and the Scandalous Earl when so much happens on both fields, plus she has great way of writing dialogue that is genuine and entertaining.

Jamie was your typical geek girl, a hint of fandom and online gaming and lot of spunk and guts, I liked her putting some things in order in regency England, and her battle with clothing and what a girl is supposed to be doing in that time, I knew no matter how much she loved the Earl that eventually she just couldn't stay.

Micah was your perfect aristocratic, arrogant and uptight man, straight out of Jane Austin novel! As annoying as that was, I quickly warmed up to him when he begun to warm up to Jamie. Then again when he thought he was doing all the right things he was annoying again - I suppose I had a love and hate relationship with Micah, not too different from Jamie. ;)

The romance was sweet, it was slow burning but when it got hot, boy it got hot! Of course being 200 years apart gave a healthy dollop of problems to them, as well as the pesky wench ex-mistress of the Earl's and her murderous twists.

In all this story was great for us little bit geeky girls who love to read historical romance!
