SPOTLIGHT - WIRED IN SIN ( REVIEW & #GIVEAWAY )

"Victoria is a business owner, a friend and a succubus, the latter being something she despises with her whole heart. As she works to free others like her from the daily need to feed from sexual partners, she stumbles across her mate. Now she’s fighting destiny and the call of his lust, refusing to sate her need on the one male made for her.

Dominick is a technowizard used to living his life his way. When he arrives at a business meeting and senses his mate, he’s intrigued. When she slams walls up around herself and refuses to even look at him, he goes on the prowl. He uses her phone sex business to get her attention, but can he keep her on the line long enough to capture her heart?"

Sexy Excerpt

Dominick knew the moment that she started feeding off his energy. The magical pull was slight but still there in the back of his mind. He couldn't stop from smiling when her face finally relaxed and a beautifully peaceful look descended. She’d been distant and cool when first materializing in his mind. Now that he was feeding her, he could feel her loosening up, releasing some of the control she had on their session and her mind.

Moving his hands up under the dress was a taste of delicious torture. He could feel her smooth skin under his palms, feel her heat, but could only imagine what she looked like. Were her legs long enough to wrap around his waist if he hoisted her against the wall? Would they look pale against his tanned skin? Did she have any freckles on her ivory skin, or was it creamy and unblemished? He groaned, his imagination fueling his thoughts, feeding his desire to unwrap her like a present. He wanted to push the fabric off her legs and catch a glimpse of the prize he was after, but the longer he waited the better it would be.

He watched her face as he stroked both hands up along her legs. He stopped at her knees and skimmed his palms back down to her ankles, lightly running his fingers over her skin. He grinned as she shivered under his ministrations. He did the circuit again, up slowly along the outside of her calf then back down to her ankles. The feel of goose bumps under his touch made him want to shout in triumph. She was reacting to the session even if she didn't want to.

I found the story of a succubus using phone sex to survive a new one, the blurb promises a sexy erotic romance but with all the emotional reward of a love/mating story. Dominick is nothing but a wizard, not much compared to a demon like Victoria - so he's at disadvantage when it comes to wooing Victoria who's set up such walls she doesn't even bat an eyelash at being in the same room with her mate. Getting flat out rejected like that Dominick needs to come up with another way to date Victoria - and what better way than the anonymity of her Phone Sex Business.

I loved Victoria's coolness, and I loved when she caught herself giggling with Dominick on the line, she was dead set against love, for she'd hurt so many, even killed when she was first turned in the 1920's. I read a Rumi quote yesterday that I think was absolutely beautiful and applies to Victoria as well because it's not only love that breaks our hearts...

"You have to keep breaking your heart until it opens." ~Rumi

I loved to to have fully loved the love story with Victoria and Dominick but few things bothered me enough to drop one star away from the rating. Dominick was snapping with Victoria, when she tried to raise her shields to protect her heart he'd snap, quickly forget and move on, it wasn't that bad but a guy snapping at you for not doing anything worth reprimanding didn't sit well with me. That combined with very little about Victoria's business, the blurb makes you think there will be more hot phone sex around that place, but no and that I would have wanted more. Sure she just worked there, and the story was about their romance - but it was such interesting idea I wanted more world building I suppose.

That said I'm so glad I finally got a chance to read a Lea Barrymire novel! I have been waiting for this day! That girl is awesome, her blogs the bomb and her writing is entertaining as hell! She's a great erotic romance author, she knows how to write her characters with plenty of depth to keep them interesting, with enough soul to be cared and related to, and with tons of sex-appeal to keep your heart racing in all the right places!

Lea lives in Western New York with her hubby, three children, and miscellaneous critters. Before the rugrats, she lived a life of adventure, following her husband all over Europe with the US military. She’s slept in a car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see tulips in the Netherlands, and knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she spends her time in life’s adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school plays.

Lea has loved reading from a very young age, spending many sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction and paranormal were her favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love bled into her adult life. She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to fill time, and found it filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with the characters in her head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say something funny.

When Lea isn't reading, writing or corralling kids, she enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just kicking back and listening to some music.
